In the photo you can see the workshop "Corporate volunteering" which was held at our "Forum of volunteers – 2019 "Birlik" in December of last year. Our partners such as: "Samruk-Kazyna Trust", "Beeline Kazakhstan", Social workshop" Green Tal"," Radisson Hotel Astana " and many others took part in it. And as you might’ve guessed, they all develop corporate volunteerism in their companies.

What is corporate volunteering?
@wikipedia interprets it as: "Voluntary participation of employees of organizations in various social programs with the support of their company and is an element of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the company's sustainable development strategy."

This initiative, which involves thousands of workers and hundreds of companies every year, benefits both companies and their employees, as well as non-profit associations and the surrounding society.

Corporate volunteering in the post-Soviet space, including Kazakhstan, is not sufficiently developed and is perceived by corporations and businesses as charity. The main difference between corporate volunteerism and corporate charity is when the company encourages the initiative of its employees to participate in volunteer activities, i.e. to take action by allocating time for this, instead of when the company allocates funds or goods, and directs them to some good cause.
