We continue to get acquainted with the work of the
regional front offices of volunteers. Today we will learn about how the front
office of volunteers works in the Kostanay region.
One of the main tasks of the regional front office of
volunteers is to support and assist in the implementation of initiatives of citizens, public
associations, non-profit organizations, their desire to contribute to the
volunteer movement.
Manatova Symbat Boranshykyzy, head of the volunteering
sector of the youth resource center of the Kostanay region, also head of the
regional front office of volunteers of the Kostanay region, will tell us more.
“Every year in our region, volunteering becomes more
popular among the entire age category of the population. So, with the youngest volunteer is 7 years old, and the oldest is
60 years old.
Many volunteers most often choose these areas of
volunteering: Qamqor
, Umit , Taza Alem and event volunteering”.
114 volunteer organizations are actively working in the
Kostanay region, which united 2,500 volunteers. In 2021, about 2,400 events
were held in the region, covering 4,200 people.
“Since
the beginning of 2021, volunteers of the region have taken part in the
republican and international projects Kieli Tabigat, World Cleanup Day, Birge
Taza Kazakhstan. Civil servants and caring citizens were engaged in planting
trees, cleaning reservoirs, participating in an environmental clean-up, putting
parks and alleys in order, sorting garbage. During this period, 7,000 trees
were planted in the region, and about 250 tons of garbage were removed. In
total, more than 8,000 people took part in the project.
In 2021, eco-volunteers organized a campaign to collect
and dispose of Spruces after the New Year. As part of the campaign, for the
first time in Kazakhstan, 2,000 Christmas trees were processed into chips and the
chips were donated to summer residents in Kostanay and Tobyl. The action is
currently ongoing."
We also learned that the eco-volunteers of the region launched a podcast (video interview) on environmental topics. At the moment, 2 episodes have already been posted, in total, 1 podcast per month is planned. “The first in Kazakhstan project “Books on drafts” was
organized, the essence of which is to collect draft sheets of A4 format, in
which one side is draft and the other is blank. In the future, the sheets are
sorted and business-oriented books will be printed on suitable drafts. So far,
15 such books have been produced.
Organized collection and donation of clothes to those in
need in the Helper project, together with the NGO Resource Center and civil
activist Chechulina Olga, in order to reduce the disposal of clothes and toys
to the landfill. So far, at least 5,000 pieces of clothing have been donated to
charity.
As part of the celebration of the Nauryz Meirami holiday,
together with the NGO resource center, a Nature Day was organized for pupils of
the youth home, during the day training was held in the form of master classes
in planting flowers, organic fertilizers, sewing eco-bags, cooking eco-chips
from fruits.
Marathon "Eco-hiking" in Rudny. The bottom
line: volunteers, more than 8 people, walk 6-8 km. and pick up trash along the
way. That is, they collect garbage not in a certain place, but along a certain
path.
In the winter period of 2021, the Snow Landing campaign
was held in the region, in which more than 15 organizations took part, where
about 400 volunteers from 20 regions of the region were involved. As part of
the action, about 700 yards of lonely pensioners and people with disabilities
were cleaned. Volunteers also provide daily targeted assistance and advice.
From January 2022 to the present day, about 100 yards of
lonely pensioners and people with disabilities have been cleaned.
The Halyk Foundation organized food distribution for
those in need. 2,000 food packages were delivered to families raising children
with disabilities. More than 20 organizations, universities, colleges and NGOs
took part in the action. More than 230 volunteers were involved.
A quest tour to regional sacred places dedicated to the
180th anniversary of Ybray Altynsarin was held on the territory of the Kostanay
region. During the quest tour, the participants visited sacred objects of
regional local significance located in Kostanay, Mendykarinsky, Uzunkol,
Sarykolsky and Altynsarinsky districts. We visited the mausoleum of Ibrai
Altynsarin, at the monument to Nurzhan Naushabaev, at the grave of Spandiyar
Kobeev, the burial places of Aspantai abyz aulie, Barak batyr, Shokai bi, saw
the well of Omar, where Ibrai Altynsarin was born.
During the state of emergency from January 5, 2022,
volunteers of the region delivered hot meals and tea to law enforcement
officers and helped with patrols.
4 search and rescue teams "Dos", "Region
-10", "Bars", "Victoria" and "Leader" are
actively working in the region. I would also like to note that in the city of
Lisakovsk, a branch of the DPSO "Region -10" was opened. 92
applications were received, of which 69 were found, 12 were missing, 12 were
killed. 5 student trainings.
And also in the city of Kostanay, two social shops are
actively working, where people in need can get the necessary things free of charge.
Volunteer organizations such as "Phoenix",
"Prometheus" and "28 loops" in the city of Rudny, which
consists of silver volunteers , also work.
Much attention is paid to the volunteers themselves. At
the end of the year, events are held to stimulate volunteer activity, such as
the "Best Volunteer Initiative", "Best Volunteer of the
Year", "Best Volunteer Organization", where volunteers are
awarded certificates and valuable prizes for their active participation
throughout the year. Similar events are held in every region of the region.
